Sunday morning I woke up to 6 AM phone calls congratulating me for the Miami Herald recommendation of my campaign for State House District 114. I quickly ran to read the newspaper editorial and was very moved to read why they recommended me (click here to read the full story). As a 15 year resident of District 114, I have fought for and proudly represented the residents of my community as an activist and as a member of the Kendall Community Council, with passion and dedication. I am humbled and very thankful for this great recognition of the work I have done for our community, and will continue to do so as State Representative for District 114 in Tallahassee when I am elected.

We have a primary election on August 24th, and I ask you to please join me as we walk the district or call to talk to voters to let them know I want to represent them in Tallahassee. I want to create incentives for small businesses to create new jobs, provide proper funding for our schools, and bring to South Florida our fair share of our tax dollars.

And if you live outside the district, take a look at the district map to find your family or friends who live in district 114, and ask them to support me.

We need new faces and new leadership in Tallahassee. We are tired of politicians who listen only to the not-so-special special interests instead of YOU, the working families who elected them. And as the Miami Herald recommended "...Millie Herrera's experience as a business owner and her broad knowledge of the issues facing her district gives her the edge...", I will use my life experiences to continue to do what is best for us working families, small businesses, our children's education, and to make Florida a better place to live.
